The Craig Police Department and the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office have released more details on the fatal officer involved shooting that took place on March 31st. At approximately 8:58am on that day, officers from the Craig PD and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make contact with an adult male, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. The man ran from the officers, displayed a firearm and shots were fired. The man was hit and eventually died. It was shared this week that both a Craig PD officer and a sheriff’s deputy discharged their duty weapons during the incident. As standard protocol, Officer Daniel Molina and Sheriff’s Office Patrol Sergeant Kurtis Luster are currently on paid administrative leave, as an internal investigation takes place.
