The new Roosevelt Library has welcomed record numbers since soft-opening for business on January 30th and it is easy to see why. In short, the space is filling needs in the community. Duchesne County Library Director Daniel Mauchley reports that February saw 5,000 visitors to the library and March saw 6,100; a count that is second only to the record set in June of 2019. “We are already receiving many requests to borrow the community room spaces,” shares Mauchley. “They include a quilting guild, parenting classes, test proctoring, association and coalition meetings, a trading card club, a chess club, an author event and more. Homeschool families have come to study in the spaces as well as some other remote working adults. Families with young children have regularly come to spend time in the library even outside of story times, especially during the cold winter to get out of the house.” Branch Manager Stephen Moon has said it best: “This new library has come about because of the community participation in the past library that created the demand for something more and the community support of the new project.” The Grand Opening is being held Saturday, April 22nd from 10am to 2pm. There will be activities, treats, and fun!
