Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office recently shared a tribute to one of their own. Gena (Verlynn) Carda lost her battle with cancer after a “courageous and fearless” fight. She served Duchesne County for many years with a valiant dedication, first as the IPP Coordinator for the Department of Corrections and then to the Duchesne County Sheriff Office team in September of 2010. She was the Jail Room Control Operator and was later transferred to a Booking Clerk position. In their tribute, the Sheriff’s Office shared that “she was highly respected by all who knew and worked with her. Her smile, jokes and all around great personality will be sorely missed around the office. Verlynn’s passing has and will affect us all. It is a tremendous loss for our agency and she leaves a huge hole in our hearts. We send our heartfelt condolences to her Husband, sons and extended family members. Verlynn, you will be forever missed and never forgotten.”
