Thirty-one Uintah High FFA chapter members joined over 2,000 FFA members from around the state in attending the FFA State Convention in Logan last week. The events were all highly competitive and Uintah represented very well. The Uintah FFA Conduct of Chapter Meetings team placed second. Emerson Hackford placed third in Prepared Public Speaking. Kaylee Jo Huber made finals in the Employment Skills Leadership Development event. Hadlie Horrocks earned first place in the Utah FFA Goat Production Proficiency competition. Uintah’s FFA chapter was one of less than a dozen Utah chapters to earn the Five Star Chapter Award. Chapter advisor David Wilson was presented with the Utah FFA Association’s Distinguished Service Award. Uintah FFA President Aysia Massey was selected as the 2023-2024 Utah FFA Association State Reporter. She will travel around Utah and to other states throughout the coming year representing Utah FFA. Nine Uintah members earned the State FFA Degree which is earned by less than 2 percent of all FFA members. Earning this degree required accurate, consistent record-keeping, as well as tremendous dedication and involvement in FFA. Congratulations to all the Uintah FFA members and leadership on representing northeastern Utah so well!
