The Vernal City Police Department is getting some love to end this Valentine’s week as they are being recognized by Team Uintah for their support of local schools and students. “Chief Dylan Rooks has been a dedicated supporter of the Uintah School District throughout his long career in law enforcement,” shares Team Uintah. “The police department has partnered with the district to establish a School Resource Officer position at both Vernal Middle School and Uintah Middle School. Currently, Cpl. Troy Davis is serving as the SRO, working with our school community to ensure our students are safe.” Team Uintah says the commitment by Chief Rooks and his department in maintaining a presence in local schools is outstanding. Thanks to the Vernal City Police Department for keeping local schools safe in order to foster learning.
