The Uintah County Commission met in a special public meeting on Tuesday. First the Commission approved the construction of the Western Park ice rink and amphitheater project. Upgrades to the ice rink and amphitheater have been in exploration and planning stages for much of 2022. The over $7 million dollars needed for the projects are coming from ARPA funds awarded to Uintah County, meaning no local tax dollars are involved. Next during Tuesday’s meeting, they discussed the Resolution ‘Elected Officials Salary Increase’ but ultimately tabled the agenda item. Finally, they adopted the final 2023 budget in the amount of $74,656,223 dollars. The budget approval had to be done by the end of the year requiring that they schedule the special meeting before the end of the month.
