People of all ages have memories of walks and water play at Kids Canal and there is an effort underway to formally preserve those memories. The Uintah Heritage Museum and Uintah County Library announced the invitation in the fall for all to share their stories, pictures, and even artwork of Kids Canal and more entries are needed. At the time of the announcement, Library and Museum Director Sam Passey explained that they want people to help by being citizen historians. Visit www.kidscanalstories.org and click on ‘Submit Your Story’. A form opens that will allow you to write a memory, attach photos, art work or even a video. The website also contains an account of the history of Kids Canal, historic photos, newspaper clippings, and art work. The project is thanks to funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the American Recovery Plan.
