The Bureau of Land Management Seeks Feedback on Oil and Gas Lease Sale

The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management issued a press release concerning a proposed oil and gas lease sale within the BLM’s Vernal Field Office in Uintah County. The release states, “In accordance with congressional direction in the Inflation Reduction Act, the Bureau of Land Management Utah State Office started a 30-day scoping period to receive public input on 13 parcels totaling more than 16,619 acres that may be included in an upcoming lease sale.” The BLM 30-day scoping comment period ends on January 19th at 4:30pm. All comments on the environmental document must be submitted electronically. The press release emphasized that the most useful comments are those that identify issues relevant to the proposed action or contain new technical or scientific information.
