A busy stretch of Highway 40 was the scene of a serious accident in Vernal
on Thursday afternoon
. According to Vernal City Assistant Police Chief Keith Campbell, a westbound motorcycle was carrying one male and one female adult passenger on Highway 40 when it collided with a car. The car was leaving the Smith’s parking lot making a left turn to travel east. The car was occupied by a single adult female driver. Both occupants of the motorcycle were transported to the Ashley Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. The driver of the car was issued a citation for failure to yield.
