State lines don’t get in the way of law enforcement agencies offering each other support. Last week, Uintah County Sheriff’s Office and Vernal Police Department assisted the Rangely Police Department on a random drug search at the Rangely High School. Uintah County Sheriff Vance Norton explains that they are called from time to time to help out, specifically to have the help of the K9 dogs and officers. “Marijuana is legal in Colorado so their canines are not trained to find it,” shares Norton. The canines are needed to search drug free zones like schools. No illegal drugs were found during the search.
