USU-Uintah Basin Biology Professor Latest to be Promoted, Receive Tenure

The campus and staff of Utah State University-Uintah Basin is always improving and reaching new heights. In the world of regional campuses, USU-Uintah Basin is considered among the very best and that has at least something to do with their teaching staff’s professional work. The latest example of this is Dr. Charles Hanifin, the USU-Uintah Basin professor of Biology, who is being promoted from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure. “Each year our campuses in Vernal and Roosevelt get better and better, and that’s seen in both the successes of our students and faculty members,” shares USU-Uintah Basin executive director

. “Charles has become a pivotal player in our biology department, and we’re happy his years of hard work is being recognized.” Dr. Hanifin was named USU-Uintah Basin Faculty Researcher of the Year in 2016. “Charles has an aptitude for engaging students in his research and providing them with hands-on learning opportunities,” shares USU Vice Provost Rich Etchberger. “The Uintah Basin is lucky to have him and we expect more regional campus faculty to follow his lead.” Dr. Hanifin’s promotion will take effect
