One pill can kill. That saying along with further information on fentanyl, the deadliest drug threat facing the country, has been a focus this fall of law agencies in Moffat County and for good reason. Drug poisonings are the leading killer of Americans between the ages of 18 and 45 and drug trafficking of fentanyl is a serious problem in the region.
Moffat County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday that two Craig women were charged this week on drug charges after an investigation conducted by the All Crimes Enforcement Team. 58-year-old Paula Hall and 55-year-old Kristy Nielson were arrested after being pulled over during a traffic stop in Craig during which K9 Odin alerted the officer to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search revealed over 2 pounds of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cocaine, and approximately 580 pills containing fentanyl.
Hall and Nielson were booked into and are being held in the Moffat County Jail on felony charges related to drug distribution. This is just the most recent example of the All Crimes Enforcement Team’s work to bring those responsible for trafficking deadly drugs, especially fentanyl, to justice.
