UBTech leadership made a presentation to the Vernal Chamber luncheon on Tuesday at the Uintah Conference Center. President Aaron Weight shared that the UBTech Mission is to provide technical education and training to fulfill labor market needs and promote economic development in the Uintah Basin. UBTech offers 47 certificate programs and the 2022 graduation had 686 certificates awarded. The long term goal is to reach 1,000 certificates awarded by 2030. Weight shared with the Chamber businesses that UBTech is there as an economic development partner whose mandate is to get people in the workforce quickly.
Those that complete a certificate on average increase their annual income by over $10,000 dollars. Weight also shared that UBTech has added three new programs: Advanced Energy Transportation, Introduction to Pumping, and Tower Technician. The first cohort of the Tower Technician program is scheduled to start next month.
