Local cowboy Rhen Richard and his outstanding horse ‘Chics Magic Corona’ came out on top at the 2022 ARHFA (American Rope Horse Futurity Association) World Championship over the weekend in Fort Worth, Texas. The pair won $25,000 dollars as the 2022 American Rope Horse Futurity Association World Champions. An article on their win featured in Team Roping Journal called their win a fitting finish after a historic year. In the article, Richard explains that he bought Chics Magic Corona in 2021 and there was initially a lot of work he had to put into the horse but obviously the work has paid off. This win means Chics Magic Corona ages out of the ARHFA 6 and under competition as the world champ. “If he keeps progressing like he has, there’s no telling,” Richard shared with Team Roping. So what is next? The plan is to continue with Chics Magic Corona at the 8 and unders at the Royal Crown. Great job and good luck to the dynamic duo!
