The general election is taking place on Tuesday, November 8th. Uintah County Clerk/Auditor Mike Wilkins reported on Monday that ballots are in the mail in Uintah County. Anyone with questions about the security of mailing your ballot is encouraged to reach out to the Clerk/Auditor’s Office or stop by. Wilkins explains that everything is in tight control from the time ballots arrive at the county building until the time they are counted. Those that decide they are not comfortable sending their ballot by mail can bring the ballot that arrives in the mail to the county building during Early Vote. All mail-in ballots must be postmarked by November 7th at the latest. There is a drop box north of the Uintah County Library, at the Vernal City Offices, and inside the Uintah County building. Wilkins said registered voters in Uintah County should expect to see their ballots in their mailboxes today or tomorrow. For more election information, visit www.vote.utah.gov.
