What do you do when Earth Science Week, National Fossil Day, and International Archeology Day all happen in the same week? Well if you’re in charge at Dinosaur National Monument you decide it is the perfect conditions for Rocktoberfest. Festivities kicked off on October 8th and continue through Sunday, October 16th. Every day there is a Geology Talk at 10am. Just meet at the Quarry Exhibit Hall shuttle stop for a 15 to 20 minute ranger talk about the geology of Dinosaur National Monument. There is A Rock and Fossil Table inside the Quarry Visitor Center that allows individuals to take a closer look at the 23 different geologic formations that are exposed throughout the Monument. There are also Junior Ranger activity books and $1 guide books for the self guided auto tour or hiking trails at the Canyon Visitor Center in Colorado or Quarry Visitor Center in Utah. There are also special events each day so check them out on the Rocktoberfest Facebook event page.
