Local service providers, including DCFS and Northeastern Counseling, know how to throw a party as evidenced by the crowd and atmosphere at the Colton Pavilion last night in Vernal. The 4th annual Fall Carnival had 26 fun booths, blasting karaoke, a fire engine, bounce houses, and almost every food truck in town. Everyone in attendance was given a $5 token to be used at the food trucks which was a hit based on the smiles and energy of the crowd. Event coordinator Louise Warburton said there were over 1700 people in attendance over the 4 hours of the carnival. Warburton works for DCFS and is in a Master’s program studying to become a therapist. “Every year the event gets bigger,” she shared at the end of the event. “The reason we started this was to foster relationships with service providers in our community and to let people know what we are all doing. I also wanted people to realize that DCFS is here to support and strengthen families. Our goal is to support families.” On the mass success of this year’s event, Warburton said she is just grateful for great community support and hopes more people are aware of the community services offered locally.
