The Uintah Basin was the destination for leadership from the University of Utah last week as they focused on learning about the economy of eastern Utah. According to the @THEU (At The U) article, U of U President Taylor Randall and other university leaders visited Vernal on August 15th and 16th as part of their Utah Across Utah Tour to learn about Vernal’s balance of old and new and to find out if there is a role the U can play in eastern Utah. This was the fourth leg of the tour and focused on seeing first hand the existing and emerging industries in eastern Utah as well as the higher education research taking place. In addition to visiting well sites, the group toured the Innovation Hub and local campuses as they caught a glimpse of what makes up eastern Utah’s economy.
