Great Things Happening at Davis Elementary

Davis Elementary is holding their fall Book Fair and Canned Food Drive. Along with their Book Fair, they celebrate their annual Literacy Night on November 10th, in which they invite parents and students to come in to the school and spend an evening learning about the importance of literacy. This is a great evening to mingle with parents and help provide resources they can use to assist in helping their child become a successful reader.

Another great opportunity that has come up for their students and school has been through the partnership one of our teachers has created with the Dinosaur National Monument. She works with them to raise endangered fish through the year and then as a grade they go on a field trip to release the fish in the spring. Last year Ms. Biggs and her 4th grade class released a number of Razorback Suckers.  This year they are raising and releasing more fish.

The following is a link that the monument recently sent about last year’s group of fish.
