The Pine Ridge Fire activity is at a minimum, according to a Utah Fire Info report

. No growth occurred
on Sunday night
and firelines held through the night. Full containment is expected by the end of Thursday’s shift. The report credits the helicopter as being very effective on Sunday. “Smoke will be visible for the next few weeks from the Sawtooth Ridge area,” shares Utah Fire Info. “Steep terrain and rolling rock hazards make it inaccessible and firefighter safety could be compromised. The priority on Sawtooth Ridge is to stop the movement from going down canyon toward the Dry Fork Community. The ridge will be heavily monitored until the fire is out in that vicinity. Mop up activities are going very well and ground resources continue to improve the firelines around the fire.” The Pine Ridge Fire was called in

on land 18 miles northwest of Vernal. Mapping that took place
Sunday afternoon
by a GIS specialist estimates the acreage burned is a total of 519 acres; 454 acres of BLM land, 51 acres of private land, and 14 acres of U.S. Forest Service land. The cause is still under investigation but will be shared if a determination is made.
