James Dennis Sharp was born July 30, 1946. He passed away after a long battle with the complications of diabetes on June 1, 2019 at the age of 72.
Dennis grew up in Bountiful, Utah and after High School he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After his mission, he met and married Martha with whom he had 6 children, they later divorced. In 1987, he married the love of his life Kathy and he became dad to her four children from a previous marriage. He was an auto mechanic for most of his adult life spending his last 17 years of employment working for Woods Auto. He was well liked in his field and even his family and friends benefited greatly from his extensive knowledge of cars.
To say he was a patient is an understatement. To know him was to know the kind of quiet strength and patience most people only dream, even when disciplining the many teenagers he raised, he was a patient talker. He loved to spend time with family and spend time in the outdoors. There were many camping trips and spontaneous picnics. Dennis was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and shared his deep faith with anyone who asked or was willing to listen. He was a great friend and always had sage advice to share.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mom, dad, and three brothers: Scott, Randy, and Greg.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Kathy Sharp, as well as his children: Quint, Miki, Celia, Jason, Rebekkah, Jeremy, Jeff, Kariann, Siobahn, Cory and their families. He is also survived by his remaining siblings R. Lee Sharp, Peggy S. Tolman, Kenneth Sharp, and Pauline S. Merrell.
He will be greatly missed, and loved until we meet again.
