Homes have been lost in a fire two miles east of Fruitland on Wednesday. The Uintah Basin Interagency Fire Center says the fire was called in
at 3:24pm
. Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands spokesman Mike Eriksson says the Fruitland Shed Fire was initially estimated at 10 acres. As of
10:00pm on Wednesday night
, the fire was considered 75% contained and had reached 20.6 acres. Utah Fire Info reported

that three structures are confirmed a total loss. Two of those were residences; one was a house, the other was a trailer. Initially a helicopter was on its way but crews were able to get enough of a handle on the fire that it was cancelled, shares Eriksson. Highway 40 was delayed for several hours. A cause has not been determined.
