As the Dollar Ridge Fire spreads, the Duchesne County Commission has ordered an IMMEDIATE EVACUATION for the following areas: Beginning at the Wasatch-Duchesne County line headed east along the Currant Creek Stream to the Lower Red Creek Road, south on the Lower Red Creek Road to the Strawberry Pinnacles Junction, continuing south from the Strawberry Pinnacles Junction on the Avintaquin Canyon Road to the junction of Horse Ridge Road, south on Horse Ridge Road to the Reservation Ridge Road. Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office reports that ignoring the evacuation is a violation of state law punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of $1,000 dollars. Violations will be strictly enforced. There is no entry to the established hazard area and no one will be allowed to re-enter the area until the evacuation order has been lifted. Duchesne County will notify the public when the order is lifted. Utah Fire Info shared that evacuations have been ordered for Camelot Resort, cabins down river along the Strawberry Gorge and the fire is directly impacting structures near Currant Creek.
