A murder charge was filed this week in connection with an altercation that took place in Uintah County last April. At the time, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office stated that their deputies were investigating an altercation that took place at a residence near Pelican Lake just
after 1:00pm on April 13th.
They reported that an argument occurred between a 67-year-old man who lived at a residence located near
16000 East 4500 South
and a 46-year-old man living on the property. “At some point during the argument, a handgun was produced and the argument between the two men turned physical,” shared the Sheriff’s Office, “resulting in the death of the 67-year-old man. No shots were fired from the handgun during the incident.” On July 11th, a charge of 1st Degree Felony Murder was filed in 8th District Court against 46-year-old Andy Phillips Cabututan for the
April 13th
death of William Love. According to the Probable Cause Statement, “the defendant(Cabututan) did strike William Love in the head with a shovel, causing William Love to die.” Cabututan is scheduled for his initial appearance in 8th District Court
on August 13th.
