Two Deaths in Separate Accidents on Flaming Gorge

Daggett County Sheriff’s Office has released information on two deaths over the weekend that occurred at Flaming Gorge in separate accidents. According to Sheriff Bailey, search and rescue responded to a rollover ATV accident on County Road 17 early
Friday evening
, involving three adult males. “Upon arrival deputies were advised that one passenger of a Polaris RZR 4 was trapped inside the vehicle, which had rolled into Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Sheriff’s deputies and search and rescue personnel attempted to extricate the passenger for over 30 minutes. The passenger was extricated and pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel,” shares Sheriff Bailey. The driver and other passenger of the ATV were flown by medical helicopter to Wasatch Front hospitals. The Sheriff’s Office does not know their condition. In a separate incident, Daggett County Sheriff’s personnel were dispatched to Cedar Springs Marina on Sunday, September 2nd, at approximately
2:10pm
. An adult male who had been swimming in Flaming Gorge Reservoir was found unresponsive and later pronounced deceased. The Daggett County Sheriff’s Office did not release the identity of the victim.
