Utah Highway Patrol announced the results of the ‘100 Deadliest Days’ on Utah’s roads on Wednesday. Each year the ‘100 Deadliest Days’ safety campaign urges drivers to follow the law and buckle up as the days from Memorial Day to Labor Day are considered the deadliest on Utah roads. Unfortunately, traffic fatalities were up from 2017 with Utah Highway Patrol announcing that there were 102 deaths this summer. 2017 had 90 deaths during the same time period. The Utah Violence & Injury Prevention Program responded to the announcement urging the public to “remember your own fragility and remember the value of human life every time you make decisions about how you are going to drive.” Northeastern Utah experienced its share of tragic fatal accidents this summer with a triple fatal motorcycle accident on Wolf Creek Pass on July 19th and a double fatal accident on July 20th when a motor-home and truck hit head on in Indian Canyon on SR-191.
