The Utah Division of Water Resources will be in Vernal hosting an open house tonight focused on water conservation. The topic is timely as recent attention has been brought to Utah’s drought conditions after the state Drought Review and Reporting Committee was convened earlier this month for the first time in ten years. The Department of Natural Resource reported that the committee is required to meet by state law as “drought conditions have developed to the degree that several areas within the state are likely to receive severe impacts to various sectors of their economies.” Tonight’s open house meeting by the Utah Division of Water Resources is part of a state tour to discuss water conservation goals. The regional meeting for eastern Utah is being held tonight at Uintah Middle School
