A head-on accident between a double tanker semi and a passenger car had a fatal ending on Highway 40 last week. According to a news release from the Department of Public Safety, a passenger car was traveling westbound just
after 11pm on Thursday
on Highway 40 at Mile Marker 80.5 while a double tanker semi was traveling eastbound in the same area. “The passenger car suddenly drove into the eastbound lane and collided with the semi truck head-on,” shares the release. “The semi continued on for a short distance before being able to stop. The tractor then ignited into flames and completely burned. The trailers were unharmed.” The passenger car had two occupants. The driver was killed on impact and the passenger was transported to Uintah Basin Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The semi driver was not badly injured. The deceased driver was later identified as 21-year-old Jacob A. Kosowsky from Boca-Raton, Florida.
