Ashley National Forest Revised Forest Plan Update

The Forest Land and Resource Management Plan for Ashley National Forest is moving along in its development and US Forest Service has provided an update on the process. Over 180 responses were received to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement and plan proposal. “The Forest Land and Resource Management Plan is a strategic document that will guide Forest management decisions for the next 15 years,” shares the announcement. “The comment period for the DEIS and proposed plan closed February 17th. Comments received will now be reviewed and considered in the development of the Final Environmental Impact Statement and Forest Plan.” Officials have offered their appreciation to those who submitted comments. “The comments received will greatly help us as we move forward in completing the best plan for the lands we all enjoy,” shared Forest Supervisor Sue Eickhoff. It’s expected that the Record of Decision will be published in the late fall of this year.
