Vernal and beyond was bustling over the weekend as events drew visitors from outside the area, filling up hotels and restaurants. The 7th Annual Basin Bash Baseball Tournament hosted 46 teams from Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming with the Uintah 13U team winning the championship in the gold bracket. The event was supported by local fans as well as the many families that traveled to see their kids play. “We had approximately 1,500 people in town for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday,” shares Vernal Chamber Executive Director Joel Brown. “It added approximately $50,000 dollars in economic benefits to the Basin.” Events like the baseball tournament go a long ways in helping the economy between hotel rooms, food, gas, and sporting goods purchased.
