The 74th Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner for the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce was held last week. The gathering enjoyed a unique guest speaker who happens to be a local. As the only state registered gun lobbyist in Utah, Clark Aposhian spoke on the 2nd Amendment and the importance of protecting rights. His message was followed by the announcing of awards by our very own Matt Wilber and Chaunte Riker of Evans Family Media. The Business of the Year in Agriculture is Ashley Valley Veterinary Clinic, in Government is Vernal City, in Manufacturing/Industry is American Gilsonite Company, in Retail/Wholesale is Wheeler Machinery Company, in Service is Strata Networks, and in Environmental is Marathon Petroleum Corporation. Outgoing Chamber President Jared Jackson was named the Total Citizen of the Year and Todd Massey was elected as the new Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce President.
