Going from concept to construction with any kind of large infrastructure project is a long process and anything but simple. It may surprise some that the lawsuits and permitting challenges faced by the Uinta Basin Railway are an anticipated part of the process. Duchesne County Commissioner Greg Miles, who serves as the Co-Chair of the 7 County Infrastructure Coalition Board, responded to a request from Evans Family Media concerning the withdrawal of a permit for the railway project by the Forest Service. “This announcement is no surprise to us,” shares Miles. “In fact, we expected it because it avoids further legal action at the Circuit Court and maintains good relations with the Forest Service. It is strictly procedural. We have conversations with the Forest Service often and look forward to working with them in whatever way we continue to move the project forward.” For more information on this project, visit www.UintaBasinRailway.com
