The 5th annual Duchesne City Christmas Festival is happening again this year thanks to the dedication of a resident who loves Christmas as much or more than Elf himself. Motivated by a desire for more community Christmas activities, Robin Calkins got permission 5 years ago from Duchesne City to decorate the park and have an event with Santa and a light parade. The Duchesne City Christmas Festival has grown into an annual family tradition that involves many community members. This year there will be pictures with Santa and The Grinch, gingerbread house crafts, hot chocolate and donuts, the tree lighting at dark and light parade, soup dinner at the Common sponsored by the Duchesne Arts Council, and World Dance Company’s ‘Christmas around the World’ in the high school auditorium for free to the public. Plan to join the festivities on Saturday, December 3rd starting at 3pm in Duchesne City. Get signed up for the light parade by calling 385-539-7946.
