The 3A Union High School volleyball team took the state championship on Wednesday, October 28th at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield. They faced off against Morgan, losing the first set only to take over the next three sets. Volleyball Coach Mailoto said, “They were really mature about the loss (of the first set). They responded well. Instead of crumbling under pressure we rose and chose to be competitive and determined to win.” There were many key players to the win of this championship game, however, a few stood out: Allie Earle, Trinity Duncan, Kenisten Weaver, and Kinslee Drake. All with strong passes and serves. Congratulations on taking state back to back Lady Cougars!
