The Ute girls softball team hosted a regional match with the Orem Tigers last Friday and Saturday. Friday, the Utes trailed most of the way, then finally caught up in the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings, but the Tigers exploded for six runs in the top of the eighth, and the Utes couldn’t answer in the 13-7 loss.
Saturday, the Utes woke up the bats with Randee Pace and Kynlee Bristol each doubling twice as the Utes took the second game 10-1.
In the rubber match, a six-run second inning by the Tigers was the difference as the Tigers ended the Utes 4A tournament hopes, defeating the Utes 9-3.
Great job making it to state Utes!
