Wildlife officials have announced a 2nd wolf has died from the original 10 wolves reintroduced in Colorado’s Grand County less than a year ago. Officials received a mortality signal from the GPS collar of the male wolf on September 9th and he was confirmed dead on September 10th. This wolf was not part of the Copper Creek wolf pack that was captured and relocated after a series of livestock depredation incidents. One of the adult males in that pack with injuries to a hind leg also recently died. While the wolf reintroduction remains a hot topic, wildlife officials have announced their plans to release up to 15 more wolves this winter, this time from a source in British Columbia.
