A Uintah County man that turns 20-years-old this week was arrested for his 2nd DUI on record over the weekend. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the officer observed a pickup truck accelerating at a high rate of speed attempting to race another vehicle through the intersection of 500 West Main in Vernal. The officer had to travel approximately 60mph in order to catch the vehicle and pull it over. The truck’s sole occupant was 19-year-old Tekker Horrocks who was found to have a suspended license due to a prior DUI conviction. Tekker was also listed as an alcohol restricted driver that should have had an ignition interlock device. Tekker admitted that he had been drinking that night and after failing field sobriety testing he submitted to a portable breath test. A search of the vehicle found 2 open containers of alcohol and a nearly full box of the same alcoholic beverage that was missing 3 cans. Horrocks was booked into Uintah County Jail for DUI, Driving on a Suspended License, Open Container, Minor Consumption of Alcohol, and more.
