An organization that helps many local families is hosting their first event of the year. The 27th Annual Indoor 3D Archery Shoot has a reputation of being one of the best 3D indoor shoots in the western United States with shooters coming primarily from throughout Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. They also travel from other states and as far as Alaska. This weekend’s event runs for three days at the Western Park where there are twenty-three 3D targets set up at various ranges for either fun or as competition with several divisions to compete in. With anywhere from 300 to 500 shooters participating each year, the event benefits the community in several ways. First, it brings in a large crowd of competitors and spectators for three days of filling local hotels, stores, and restaurants. It is also an opportunity for the Split Mountain Archers to help local families facing struggles. The group has events throughout the year and chooses several locals to contribute revenues to. In 2018, they were able to help 3 adults and one local child. They are looking forward to helping more this year. The community is welcome to come to the Western Park this weekend and participate, as well as enjoy the event as spectators. In addition to fun shoots, there is a $40 competition with $1500 added prize money and a 65% payback. For more information, call
