While you were busy this weekend staying out of the heat and holding still in front of the A/C, some local superhumans were proving their insane levels of endurance and strength. The McCoy Flats Death Race is appropriately named as participants run a 4 mile trail route every hour until only one person is left. The race started on Saturday at 6am with a crowd of participants and by round 12 that pool was down to three. Ellen Cheshire earned 3rd place completing 12 rounds. Kyle Diebold and Andrea Christensen then battled it out for 9 more rounds until 3am when Andrea was awarded 1st place after finishing 21 laps while Kyle completed the round but went over the one hour time limit. The annual McCoy Flats Death Race is just one of the Uintah Recreation Race Series offered each year. Well done to all the participants and especially the winners on their obvious athleticism and endurance!
