A special training event is happening again this year in memory of a well respected and missed member of the law enforcement community. The 2nd Annual Andrew Cox K9 Memorial Seminar will include problem solving scenarios, mock trials, and single and dual purpose K9 training with sessions in both Roosevelt and Vernal. At 47-years-old, Andrew Cox passed away unexpectedly at his home in Uintah County due to a fatal medical incident. The loss was widely felt, including in the law enforcement community where he served for over 20 years. Cox was best known for his dedication to the K-9 program and was a recognized expert in the field statewide. He served in various capacities over his long law enforcement tenure, including working with Naples City Police, Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, Roosevelt City Police, US Marshal’s VFAST Program, Uintah Basin Narcotics Strike Force, and UBTech POST Academies.
