2019 Election Preliminary Results for Uintah County; Proposition 4 Fails

The preliminary results for the 2019 election in Uintah County show that Proposition 4 did not pass. There were 2,998 votes ‘FOR The School District Voted Local Levy Tax’ and 3,564 votes ‘AGAINST The School District Voted Local Levy Tax”; that’s 45.69 percent FOR and 54.31 percent AGAINST Proposition 4. Preliminary results for the Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District Board shows Dean A. Baker with 22.41 percent of the vote, Max Haslem with 21.20 percent, Robert K. Jolley with 20.28 percent, David L. Hatch with 18.14 percent, and Mike Davis with 17.98 percent of the vote. There were 6,594 ballots cast in Uintah County for a total voter turnout of 47.81 percent. Clerk/Auditor Mike Wilkins reports that that is double the usual turnout for a municipal general election.
