School is starting and children are back to the pursuits of academia. The Duchesne County School District would like to remind everyone of the importance of reading at home. A child needs to master reading in order to master most of the other subjects studied at school. Research shows that just 20 minutes a day spent reading with a child helps them develop critical reading skills. It should also be noted that a child spends 900 hours a year in school and 7,800 hours at home. All across the world it is proven that the children who read the most read the best.
