This Veterans Day will include a special local recognition and service. This year marks the 100 year commemoration of the American Doughboy statue in Uintah County. On November 11th, there will be a moment of silence at 11am followed by a Veterans Day program at 11:30 at the Uintah County Library. A special Doughboy exhibit open house will open at 12:30pm at the Uintah County Heritage Museum. The annual community flag retirement ceremonies will also be held from 12:30 to 5pm at the Uintah Conference Center. The 100 Year Commemoration of Vernal’s ‘Spirit of the American Doughboy’ celebration is thanks in large part to the Uintah County Library Regional History Center.
