This year marks the 100 year commemoration of the American Doughboy statue in Uintah County and this Veterans Day it will be given special recognition. On November 11th, there will be a moment of silence at the Uintah County War Memorial where the Doughboy is located at 11am followed by a Veterans Day program at 11:30 at the Uintah County Library. A special Doughboy exhibit open house will open at 12:30pm at the Uintah County Heritage Museum. The 100 Year Commemoration of Vernal’s ‘Spirit of the American Doughboy’ celebration is thanks in large part to the Uintah County Library Regional History Center. Also on Veterans Day is the annual community flag retirement ceremonies that will be held from 12:30 to 5pm at the Uintah Conference Center.All are invited to bring their flags needing retired or come and be part of the retirement ceremonies.
