The Union Cougar baseball team started the first round of the 3A state tournament with a 14-4 win over Judge Memorial, they then faced Richfield, losing to the Wildcats 11-3. The Cougars then took on Emery eeking out a 12-10 victory. They then beat Summit Academy 6-5 to take on Region rival Carbon Friday, Lincoln Labrum, Easton Rohrer and Matt Williams  each doubled and the Cougars built a 5-2 lead after 4 innings, but Carbon came back with 5 runs in the fifth inning to take the lead. The Cougs came back to tie it at 7, but the Dinos scored in the bottom of the 8th to end the Cougars 3A State run

The Union Cougar baseball team finished third in Region 14 and traveled to Richfield last Saturday to start the first round of the 3A state tournament. Trying to avenge a previous loss to Judge Memorial, Logan Duncan doubled, tripled and homered and Rayden Deets also homered as the Cougs scored 8 runs in the sixth inning to beat the Bulldogs 14-4. They then took on Richfield, Deets went two for three in the 11-3 loss to the Wildcats. The Cougars will now take on Emery at the Salt Lake Community College Cate field in West Valley on Thursday at 11 am.

The Cougars managed a two runs in the first three innings while holding the Bulldogs scoreless, then the Bulldogs scored 4 runs in the fourth and 8 in the fifth to beat the Cougars 12-2. The Union Cougar baseball team took on the Delta Rabbits on Friday, March 23. Union started off strong with 17 runs in the first inning. The Cougars then added another 11 runs to their score in the second inning. They then added 4 more runs to seal the victory Union 32 - Delta 8. Union had 20 hits in the win. Nate Foote, Logan Duncan, and Jobe Rust all pitched for the Cougars. The Cougs next take on American Leadership on Tuesday, March 27th.

They hosted Grand Thursday, Matt Williams hit two doubles in the 12-5 Cougar win. Friday they hosted Delta, the Cougs scored 11 runs in the first inning and 17 in the second and 5 players each doubled as the Cougars humbled the Rabbits once again 32-8.  They'll host American Leadership Tuesday then visit them Friday.

The Union Cougar Baseball took on the Trojans out of Morgan High School on Friday, March 16th in Roosevelt. Union had twelve hits to win the game in 5 innings. Union scored 1 run in the first inning, 6 runs in the second, and 3 runs in the 5th. Braden Nebeker and Lincoln Labrum both pitched great games allowing 0 runs. The Cougs next play the Delta Rabbits in Delta on Tuesday, March 20th.

The Cougs had 6 hits including 2 from Rayden Deets and a double my Matt Williams, but couldn't get anyone across the plate in the 5-0 loss to the Utes. The Cougars then traveled to Emery Wednesday, Matt Williams hit a home run and Rayden Deets a triple but lost to the Spartans 4-3. The Cougs then hosted Morgan Friday Lincoln Labrum hit a home run and two doubles with Easton Rohrer hitting a homer and double as the Cougs blanked the Trojans 10-0. They're at Delta Tuesday, host Grand Thursday then host Delta Friday.

The Union Cougar baseball team swept the Panther-Tiger Classic in St. George with wins over Beaver, Logan, Moapa Valley, Nevada and Grantsville. Tuesday, they met up with rival Uintah in Vernal. The Cougar baseball team started their season Tuesday hosting the South Summit Wildcats out of Kamas, Easton Rohrer smacked a double and pitched for the win as the Cougs beat the Wildcats 8-6. They will head south to add another cat in the mix at the Panther-Tiger Classic in St. George. They will battle with Beaver, Logan, Cedar and Moapa Valley out of Nevada, before returning home to visit Uintah on Tuesday.

After beating Juab 15-5 the previous Saturday to stay alive in the one loss bracket for the State 3A championship, the Union Cougar boys baseball team headed to the Spanish Fork sports complex to take on Juan Diego last Thursday. Taking the lead with a run in the second inning, the Cougars then gave up 11 runs in the next four innings to lose the mercy ruled game 11-1, ending their run for the state title.

The Union Cougar boys baseball team headed to Bear River to start their run at the 3A State Championship. Struggling to get the offense started the Cougars lost to the Bears, 10 to 0. In the one loss bracket the Cougs faced the Juab Wasps.  Easton Rohrer and Matt Williams each had a double and a home run and the Cougars put together a 13 run fifth inning while Rohrer kept the Wasps to only 5 runs in the 15-5 Cougar victory. They will head to the Spanish Fork sports complex to take on Juan Diego at 1:30.

The Union Cougar boys baseball team finished in fourth place in Region 10 and are headed to state. They will head to Garland to battle with the Bear River Bears Saturday morning at 10am. With a win, they will stay in Bear River to take on the winner between Juab and Pine View at 3 o'clock. A loss will send them down I-15 to Brigham City the home of Box Elder High School to take on the loser of those two teams.

 

The Cougar Boys baseball team also hosted Stansbury Tuesday. The Cougars built a 6 run lead in the first two innings, then the Stallions fought back to take an 8 to 6 lead.  In the bottom of the sixth the Cougars scored two runs to tie the game. After a scoreless seventh, heading into extra innings, the Stallions managed to get a run across the plate, and the Cougars couldn't reciprocate resulting in a 9 to 8 Cougar loss.  The Cougars finished off region play at Park City Thursdaylosing to the Miners 6-0. They finished 4 and 8, in third place in Region 10
