The Uintah Wrestling team headed to state last weekend placing second just behind Payson for the state title.  Uintah state champions were Brady Merkley at 106, Gavin Ayotte at 132, and Bridger Bennion at 145. The Uintah Wrestling team destroyed the competition at the Divisional Tournament last weekend, with 15 wrestlers advancing to the semifinals.The Utes took first place 142 points ahead of the next challenger. 22 Ute wrestlers qualified for state, with Brady Merkley, Cole Huber, Cubby Deets, Gavin Ayotte and Bridger Bennion all finishing first in their weight class. The boys head to state this weekend, good luck Utes!

The Ute Wrestling team had a great year having won Region and the Tournament of Champions and finished off the season finishing second in the 4A state tournament. Cub Deets and Gavin Ayotte are state champions with Tanner Moon finishing second in his division. Those that also placed are Cole Huber, Gunnar Harrison, Josh Holmes, August Harrison, Bridger Bennion, Hayden Boren, Jayden Atwood, Blake Alsip, and Chance Kennicker. 

The Ute Wrestling team headed to the 4A state Championships at Utah Valley University Wednesday and Thursday finishing in third place as a team with Gavin Ayotte as State Champion in the 106 pound class. The Utes had two that finished in second place, Tucker Tomlinson in the 160 pound class and Alek Shope in the 220.  Jarrod Runnels and Cub Deets finished in third in their weight classes with Bridger Bennion, Hayden Boren and Tanner Moon with fourth place finishes.
