Deon Atwood Price returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on May 10th, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. Deon was born December 15, 1928 in Vernal, Utah to Joseph Perry Atwood and Annie Jane Smuin Atwood. She was the youngest of 10 children.

Deon met the love of her life William Joe Price (Bud) in January of 1946 and 6 months later they married on July 6, 1946. On October 11, 1980 they were sealed for all time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Bud and Deon loved to square dance, bowl, hunt, fish and camp. They had 3 children Kenny, Beverly and Dale. Bud and Deon built a beautiful life together. They were married for 39 short years until Bud returned home to his Heavenly Father at the young age of 59.

Deon was very musical. She could play about any instrument you put in her hand. She never took lessons. She played by ear. She would hear a song on the radio, and a couple of hours later she could play the song perfectly. She also loved to dance and sing. You would often find her doing the two step in her kitchen with grandkids, her daughter or who ever would dance with her if there was an ‘ol Conway Twitty or Charlie Pride song playing on the radio. She loved music. She loved to share her musical talent. She volunteered at Ashley Elementary and taught children how to play the harmonica.

Deon was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. She would do anything and everything for her grandkids. She taught how to love, serve and see the positive in all things. If you were a grand daughter or Gayle Pederson (her daughter from another mother) she taught you how to clean. Deon loved to laugh and was fun loving. She had a great sense of humor and she loved a good party.

This exemplar of a Lady was strong, honest, loyal, determined and has shown her family the true meaning of enduring to the end. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and was patiently waiting for the Lord’s time to take her home.

She is survived by: Her son Kenny (Donna) Price of Vernal, Ut, her daughter Beverly (Ron) Pierce of Vernal, Ut. 10 grandchildren. 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bud Price and her son Dale Price. Her parents and her 9 siblings, and the Golden Girls.

Her reunion with all of her family has been anticipated for a long time. The celebration they are having in heaven right now is the party of all eternities!
