The Duchesne girls softball team has made history. Not only did they win the 2A state championship over the weekend in Spanish Fork, it is also the first state title in school history for girls athletics. On Thursday, the team beat Altmont 13 – 4. On Friday, they beat Parowan 10 – 0 before falling to Enterprise 2 – 5. On Saturday, Duchesne beat Millard 5 – 0 before facing Enterprise back to back, beating them first 2 – 1 and then 5-4 to secure the state title. “These girls are just resilient,” Duchesne Coach Kyle Grant told the Deseret News. “They battled and battled. That last play, the whole last game, there were ups and downs, and that’s the game of softball.” Congratulations to these athletes on making history!
