Both the Duchesne Lady Eagles and the Altamont Lady Longhorns Softball teams started the 2a State Championships by heading to the Spanish Fork complex. The Lady Eagles took on the Emery Spartans on Thursday in a hard fought see-saw battle. The Spartans took off to a 3 run lead then a 4 run fifth inning gave the Eagles a 6-5 advantage 3 runs in the 6th by the Spartans followed by 2 runs in the 7th by the Eagles led to extra innings. The Spartans scored 2 in the 8th and the Eagles couldn't score, leading to the 10-8 Eagle loss. Later Thursday they faced the Millard Eagles, giving up 9 runs in the first inning lead to the 18-3 Duchesne loss.

The Duchesne Lady Eagle Softball team hosted rival Altamont Monday, Madison Karren slugged an inside-the-park grand slam and added a triple for the Eagles as the Lady Eagles easily handled the Lady Longhorns 17-7. They then hosted Summit Academy Wednesday fighting for number one in the region 17. The Eagles lost to the Bears 16-4. They then hosted North Summit Friday beating the Lady Braves 13-2. Tuesday they beat St. Joseph 19-0. Thursday they're at Summit Academy to finish of Region 17 play. The Lady Eagles are 10 and 1 in Region 17 play and are currently in second place.

The Duchesne Lady Eagle Softball team hosted the Rockwell Lady Marshalls out of Eagle Mountain Wednesday. Kaylie Grant hit a triple and a double while pitching a shutout as the Lady Eagles beat the Marshalls 15-0 in a mercy ruled three inning game. They then hosted a tough 3A school Stansbury on Saturday. The Lady Eagles couldn't wake the bats up in the 9-0 loss to the Lady Stallions. They'll host rival Altamont Monday, host Summit Academy Wednesday, then host North Summit Friday.

The Duchesne Lady Eagle Softball team has already kicked into 2A North Region play. Last Tuesday they traveled to Rockwell High in Eagle Mountain beating the Lady Marshalls 17-4.  Thursday they hosted the Rowland Hall Winged Lions out of Salt Lake. The Lady Eagles scored 12 runs in the first inning and cruised on for the 16-1 victory. Friday they traveled to Emery, falling behind early, the Eagles rallied back to tie the game after the top of the fourth inning, but the Lady Spartans put on a rally in the last two innings to defeat the Eagles 17-8 in a non-region game.  The Eagles and the Altamont Lady Longhorns played on Mondaywith the Eagles earning the victory. The Lady Eagles are at North Sevier Thursday.
