Veterinary Feed Directive Meeting Today

Today is the day local livestock owners can attend a special meeting concerning changes to the Veterinary Feed Directive. To be implemented next year, the Veterinary Feed Directive will have significant impacts on how producers obtain feeds containing certain animal medications. StartingJanuary 1st, 2017, someone must have a veterinary feed order from their veterinarian in order to purchase these special feeds. A public meeting has been scheduled to inform livestock producers, backyard animal enthusiasts, and veterinarians of the changes to the USDA Veterinary Feed Directive today, Wednesday, July 27th from 1 to 3pm at the Western Park. If unable to attend, contact Boyd Kitchen at 781-5452 to learn more through the Utah State University 4-H Extension.
