Vernal City is moving forward in partnership with other cities to design, develop, and implement a wayfinding system in Uintah County. According to Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion, the City Council approved the design contract with Landmark Design for $49,780 dollars for the development of the master plan. “The wayfinding system will consist of uniform, attractive signage that will direct visitors, tourists, and residents to local amenities such as the Quarry, museums, trails, recreational locations, public buildings, and educational facilities,” shares Bennion. “For example, the wayfinding signs will provide better signage to Moonshine Arch.” The master plan is funded with two grants and funds from each of the 8 entities contributing. It’s expected to take 6 months to develop with all the entities involved. A public open house will be scheduled later in the summer to review the design and provide an opportunity to give feedback.
